The QLD Government have announced Round 6 of the Business Basics Grants Program worth $7,500 (ex GST)

Applications open at 9am, Monday 30 September 2024, but historically these types of programs fill up within hours — so don’t delay!

The Business Basics grants program provides support to businesses to increase core skills and adopt best practice. This support includes eligible activities such as:

  1. Website build or upgrades, including integration of third-party tools.
  2. Market research & branding strategy.
  3. Strategic marketing plans including SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) advice and content marketing strategy.
  4. Adding E-Commerce Functionality to a Website.
  5. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) implementation.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this grant, your business must meet all of the following criteria at the time you submit your application:

  • Have less than 5 employees by headcount, which includes all full-time, part-time and casual employees including Non-Executive Directors.
  • Be operating and have an active Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • Have a registered Queensland headquarters location (as per your Australian Business Register (ABR) record)
  • Have a minimum trading history of 1 year
  • Have a maximum turnover of $300,000 for the last financial year (2023/24)
  • Not have been approved for funding under an earlier Business Basics round (1-5)
  • Not be insolvent or have owners/directors that are undischarged or currently bankrupt.

    4. Registration of Interest form sample
  3. Apply for a DESBT SmartyGrants applicant account (if you don’t already have an account).
  4. Speak to Arvo Agency regarding your proposal so that we can provide you with a quote that you can use in your application.
  5. Ensure your ABR profile for your business is up to date (check your ABN status, GST status and main business location).
  6. Gather your evidence and answers.
  7. Get ready to complete and submit your ROI application at 9am, Monday 30 September 2024.
