Born and raised in Boise, Idaho USA, Elise has been set on having a career in the creative industry ever since she got her first art set on her 5th birthday. Her “when I grow up…” jumped from being an illustrator to a fashion designer to an interior designer to a tattoo artist and then finally, a graphic designer. She lived in the US until 2015, when, less than a week after graduating high school, she boarded a one-way flight to Australia to pursue her decade long dream of studying in Oz.
She began her studies at the University of Newcastle in 2016 and in 2017, she received a full scholarship to go study design in Salzburg, Austria where she lived for 6 months.
Elise graduated with a Bachelor of Visual Communication Design (Graphic Design) from the University of Newcastle in 2018 where she studied print, branding, wayfinding and corporate design. She was awarded a Professor’s Prize upon graduation for her academics, teamwork and talent displayed during her degree and had a bookplate design exhibited in the Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney.
Elise worked as a freelance designer while studying and within a year she was able to stop waitressing and make designing her sole job. She has worked with clients around the world from all different industries, and loves creating pieces that have the perfect balance of beauty and functionality.
